I've been a mom for 8 weeks now. Huh. The newness is wearing off and the dailiness is setting in. Our routines are becoming more routine and we're doing well. There seems to be a direct correlation between the amount of work that I get done in a day and the whether I go back to bed after Eliana's first feeding or not. I didn't go back to bed after feeding Ellie yesterday or today (though I miss those early morning snuggles with my baby!) and I've just been on a roll for two days getting stuff done around the house. Laundry, cleaning, organizing (and not even my normal dump-everything-out-to-organize-it-and-end-up-with-a-bigger-mess kind of organizing!). I think it helps that we're adjusting Ellie's schedule and putting her to bed earlier at night, so we get to bed earlier, too. She's still sleeping about 8 hours a night, which is wonderful. Eliana smiles and coos with me daily, which is absolutely wonderful. I've heard that a smile can brighten a room - Ellie's smiles warm my heart and brighten my days - it's the prettiest thing I've ever seen. Here are a few pictures of my little (sleeping) beauty.

she's so cute! and has it really been EIGHT whole weeks already? where has the time gone? sheesh! hopefully we'll get to see your darling Ellie IN PERSON before she turns a year! :) - tam
It's so true about how much you get accomplished varying by when you get up and get going! For me, if I get up and shower first thing, I get so much more accomplished! Maybe it's a mental thing, but it sure makes a difference!
