20 Week Ultrasound Photos!

I finally got around to scanning in the two best ultrasound photos we got. The first is a side shot facing upward, with her arm above her face. Isn't her little fist cute??

The second is a face down shot that shows a pretty good image of her spine.

Oh, and for the skeptics among you ... you cannot tell from these photos that she is a girl. You'll just have to take our word for it.

20 Week Photo

Well, we are half way there. Does that mean I will get double THIS size? I hope not.

Nursery Shopping

Well, Kmart is having a sale on baby furniture, so we're taking advantage of the discount and buying our big ticket items now! Don't know where we'll put them until the basement gets finished, but it's nice to get them checked off the list - and avoid extra shipping costs, too! Our bedding is pictured in a previous post (see Nursery Decor), but here are the furniture peices we're getting...

It's a beautiful day....

... to be wrong!! It looks like, contrary to my predictions, we have a little GIRL on the way! The ultrasound was great and, even though it was only 2D, we got to see the baby very clearly. In the picture below, you can see the baby laying back down, with legs curled up and a profile of the face. We have a clearer ultrasound picture that the tech gave us, so I hope to scan and post that soon, but here's the sneak peek in the meantime! Our little girl!

Tomorrow's the Day!

Tomorrow is February 22nd, the day we've been waiting for - our ultrasound!! I hope we'll be able to learn the gender of our wee one. I'm excited and nervous and can't wait for my first glimpse of our baby!

Nursery Decor

I finally found a crib set that I like, so this is what our little one will be surrounded with as he falls asleep in his room. We don't plan to paint the walls or do too much for decoration, but the crib set was just too cute. There is more pictured here than we are getting, but the comforter, bumper, crib skirt, sheet, valance, and diaper stacker should be arriving next week, right in time for us to celebrate knowing if we're having a boy or girl!

I wanted a star theme for the nursery, with cream and yellow as the main colors. This is a close up of the quilt, which has yellow, cream, and sage for the colors. It's too early to set up the nursery yet, but I'm getting excited. It's going to be adorable!

Cute Momma, Cute Baby!

My package from Texas finally arrived today, full of fun little goodies for me and the babe! Robert's been busy sewing up a storm and these are the firstfruits of his labor.

Robert made the bunting for our little one, complete with my requests for the buckle hole in the bottom to make it easier to put the wee one in its car seat and the cute little fold-over mittens so its hands don't get cold. It's so cute!!

The bib and sleeper are from my mom. Don't know if you can see from the picture, but the bib says, "If mommy says no, ask Grandma." Yep. My mother intends to spoil our children right out from under us. Resistance is futile.

Robert also made me a maternity shirt, the first of many cute maternity clothes to come. I pulled it out of the box and tried it on immediately, so it isn't ironed in the picture. It is a nice, professional shirt for work, though, and just my style. What can I say? Robert does good work, even when he's never made maternity clothes before and I wasn't even there to try any of them on.

And just for fun... a side shot. I'm getting rounder, it would seem. We reach the halfway mark next Tuesday. 20 weeks. Then we'll just have 20 more to go.

My Official Prediction

Our ultrasound (THE ultrasound) is scheduled for a week from tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd of February. This is the day we've been counting down to for a while, the day we will (hopefully) get to find out the gender of our baby. From before the time I was pregnant, I have always wanted a girl first. I have always dreamed about a girl. Now that we are expecting and a week away from learning what our precious little bundle is, I can't help but lean the other way. I would still love a girl - but I can't shake the feeling that....

This baby is a BOY.

That's my offical prediction. We'll see if I'm right or not on Wednesday, but that's what my gut says.
