Waste

So we were at the post office the other day and Ellie was looking for words to sound out while we waited in line. She followed the letters on the flap of the waste bin with her fingers and spelled out the letters as she traced them... "W... A... S... T... E" Since she's been doing a relatively good job of turning letter sounds into words lately, I thought I'd try to see if she could figure this one out, too. "What do those letters say?" I asked. She started to trace them again as though she were going to sound them out, then turned to me and confidently said, "Garbage can!"
