Dinner on the Deck

We love our nice, big, wrap around porch. We eat dinner out there most nights, and last night was no exception. Chili, bread, a nice breeze, mountains... It was pretty much perfect!!

Butter is Better!

"Guess what?! Butter on bread tastes better than just butter!"

This was Eliana's declaration of wisdom at dinner tonight. It is a comfort to me that perhaps she will not always be eating straight butter - perhaps these are the musings of a girl whose tastes are becoming a little more mainstream.

Then again, she still thinks the stem of the pickle is the best part.

Eliana's Lemonade Stand

Today Eliana had her first Lemonade Stand. She's been asking to have one for a couple weeks, so today was the day! She invited all the neighbors and told me everything we needed to have a Lemonade Stand. Here's her list...

She was pretty proud of her little stand! We had both pink and yellow lemonade for 50 cents (or "two quarters" as Eliana liked to put it) and Rice Krispy Treats for 25 cents. We started around 10 am and went as long as her attention span lasted. That was about noon, which wasn't too bad!

Silliness Abounds...

It never ceases. I try to take a picture, and the silliness comes out. At 5 years old, it's still true.

Eliana still can't have milk or milk products, so yesterday we set out to make our own version of the popular ice cream treat drumsticks. They turned out rather good! I think when she's gone through this batch we might make more! To make it fun, we put candy and blue cherries in with the ice cream. I think they were a hit!!
