Easter Dress

When Robert was here in September, we stopped in a children's store and saw an adorable corduroy dress. It was expensive, so I half-jokingly said to Robert, "Make that for Ellie!"

Well, he did. Not exactly, I'm sure, since he didn't have anything but a rough sketch and his memory to work from, but very similar, and very cute! And thanks to a chilly, rainy day on our visit to Texas, Ellie got to wear it as her Easter dress this year!

Game Time!!

So I'm about a month late on getting these pictures posted, but I just found them tonight and figured I'd post them anyway. =D

I love playing Rummikub. I grew up playing Rummikub. Great game. Really. But Leif won't play with me. He says I'm obnoxious when I win. I don't think I am, but that's what he says and he won't play with me. So imagine my complete and utter joy when Robert said HE would play with me while he was here last month! We sat outside and enjoyed the warm sunshine while we played. It was great.

We played 3 games. I won all 3. I wasn't cheating, but it wouldn't have been too hard to cheat, if I'd wanted to.

Sunglasses are a good idea for sitting out in the sunshine, but not if you're playing a game like this. Too bad we weren't playing poker....

The glasses were almost as bad an idea as letting Ellie run around while we played. Unfortunately for Robert she decided that this was a good time to stand next to him and ask him questions. Questions like... "That's a 5! You have a 5, Robert?"

I suppose I had an unfair advantage on two accounts that day.

The alarm clock

This is Ellie playing with Robert's alarm clock one morning. He taught her to push the big button on the top to make the face light up and she was tickled that she got to play with it! Here she's using it as a phone and talking to it...

I'm pretty sure every child has a picture of them in a diaper wearing adult shoes, so I'm adding Ellie to the list! Somewhere my parents have a picture of me in training pants wearing Kevin Stoltzfutz's boots, so I guess Ellie's just following in my footsteps!

This is the look Ellie gets in her eyes when she sees Robert. She adores him. She watches everything he does and is careful to notice all the little details about him, down to which teeny tiny animal is embroidered on his polo shirt. In the morning she inquires after him and stands by his door calling his name, hoping to find him awake and ready to play with her. She is very picky about the people she likes, but Robert passes the test. And she not only likes him, she adores him.

Sorry for the blog silence so far this week... I have a good excuse, though.... Robert's here! It's been 4 years since his last visit so we've been spending time with him! I will try to give you a few updates on Ellie in the next couple days, though, so stay tuned for the exciting adventures of Ellie and Robert!
