Ellie is a week old today and she is just full of smiles. She is such a pleasant baby to have. She cries very little and will go to sleep by herself if we put her down while she is awake. She wakes up twice during the night, though last night we put her down at 10:30 and she woke up at 1:30 and then didn't wake up again until 5:30. By that time it was already light out here, so it really felt like she only got us up once during the night. Mind you, I did go back to sleep after the 5:30 feeding, until she woke up again at 8:30. All in all she is following her schedule very well, smiling, happy, and interactive while she is awake, and adorably precious while she sleeps. It's wonderful.

Anyway, congratulations again. What a beautiful baby girl.
I forgot to ask, have you and Leif been running into random people—say, at the store—who shift their gaze aimlessly between you and Leif and then again to Eliana, only to remark brashly , "I haven't decided who she looks like," as though you would even give a second thought to what some wayfaring troglodyte thought about your daughter's parental resemblance.
Forgive me a brief rant.

I am guilty of giving my 0.02 as to which parent I think some unknown baby looks like, just like random people at the store... :-) How funny.
